THE CAST OF THE 2001 PRODUCTION OF TESS

Olivia Mace, from Taunton, is in the middle of her Drama and Performing Arts Studies at Richard Huish College. She played in Kate O'Mara's production "The Quest for Arthur", as well as Lulu in "Cabaret" and Polly in "The Threepenny Opera", all at the Taunton Brewhouse Theatre. Young though she is, Olivia has been performing regularly since 1989. As a blues, jazz and rock singer, she performs regularly at 5 Taunton bars and restaurants in her spare time.

 PLAYS Tess Durbeyfield

 

Tim Gagg, from Taunton, has recently completed studies in Drama and Performing Arts at Somerset College of Arts & Technology and is due to start at University in October. He played Lancelot in Kate O'Mara's 2000 production of "The Quest for Arthur", and a range of other theatre parts include three self-devised pieces. he has appeared in a training film on Meningitis and is co-founder of the Bafflegab Theatre Company.

 PLAYS Angel Clare

 

Robert Burbage, from Salisbury, has played at the Young Vic, Perth, Pitlochry, Inverness, Glasgow Citizens, Lyric Hammersmith, Salisbury, Windsor and in Cape Town in numerous roles, including Romeo, Hastings in "She Stoops to Conquer", Banquo in "Macbeth" and Mr Knightley in "Emma". TV credits include "Mansfield Park", "Stalky & Co", Chris Brasher in "The Four Minute Mile" and many others. Offstage Robert pursues interests in family history and the stock market.

 PLAYS Alec D'Urberville

 

Richard Randall, from Bristol, started in Rep at Butlins and has appeared in nearly 150 plays and musicals. A diversity of character roles include Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady", Randle McMurphy in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and Laurie Lee in "Cider with Rosie". He has recently been in "The UnAmerican" at the Bristol Old Vic and is a regular performer at Cornwall's Minack Theatre. A wide range of TV parts recently led to an appearance in "Teachers" on Channel 4.

 PLAYS John Durbeyfield, Jonathon Kail, Constable

 

Daphne Neville, from Frampton Mansell in Gloucestershire, trained at RADA and became one of HTV's very first presenters for 8 years. In 1976, she and her daughter Tamzin played mother and daughter in BBC's serial "Phoenix and the Carpet". Much TV (such as "The House of Elliott", "Crossroads", "Prime Suspect 1", "Dangerfield" and "Tales of the Unexpected") and many pantos followed, and recently the Nurse in "Antigone". Daphne also travels all over Britain with her tame otters in order to promote conservation.

 PLAYS Joan Durbeyfield

 

Sarah MacLeod, from Clevedon, is a recent graduate from the Oxford School of Drama. Theatre roles have included Rebecca Nurse in "The Crucible", Anna in "Old Times" and Beatrice in "A View from the Bridge". A number of film projects include "Twilight Vanishing", "Three Amigos", "Light" and "After Easter" and radio "Like Water for Chocolate" and "Diary of a Drug Fiend".

Emma Lamarque, from Taunton, is just leaving school and going to Richard Huish College to study Drama and Performing Arts.
